چکیده

form for representation of both material and information processing. lhditional modelling languages from the information systems field are inappropriate for capturing realworld dynamics because they put more emphasis on the modelling of static aspects than dynamic aspects, or because they are usually limited to modelling information processing, not the processing of material. This paper addreaaea the detailed representation realworld processing at the lowest level of decomposition in dynamic modela. A new conceptual framework is presented for this. The framework utiliaes the well-known abstraction mechanisms from semantic data modelling: aggregation, genemliaation, and association, but now for a dynamic pufpoae, i.e., to model actions performed on objects instead of the objects themselves. The framework integrates detailed representation of matenal proceaaing and information processing. Integrated modelling of material and information processing is necessary whenever material and information processing interact strongly in the object system to be modelled: The processing of material usually depends on information, while information are often carried by materials. In the latter case transportation of the information will depend on transportation of the material itself. Sometimes this may be an unwanted situation since material often has a, bottleneck in transportation whereas information has its main bottleneck in processing. Such dependencies should therefore be captured.

He Endorses Me – He Endorses Me Not – He Endorses Me ... Contextualized Reasoning in Complex Systems

Interaction between agents representing real world actors in computational models must be informed by knowledge about interaction processes occurring amongst real world actors. We propose the use of endorsements to implement the cognitive processes underlying the decisions that lead to interactions among agents. The main advantage in applying the idea of endorsements lies in the fact that they ...

Cortical Networks Representing Object Categories and High-level Attributes of Familiar Real-world Action Sounds

In contrast to visual object processing, relatively little is known about how the human brain processes everyday real-world sounds, transforming highly complex acoustic signals into representations of meaningful events or auditory objects. We recently reported a fourfold cortical dissociation for representing action (nonvocalization) sounds correctly categorized as having been produced by human...

Probabilistic temporal networks: A unified framework for reasoning with time and uncertainty

Complex real-world systems consist of collections of interacting processes/events. These processes change over time in response to both internal and external stimuli as well as to the passage of time itself. Many domains such as real-time systems diagnosis, story understanding, and nancial forecasting require the capability to model complex systems under a uni ed framework to deal with both tim...

Levels Of Decision Making And Certain Problems Of Artificial Intellect

Pecularities of Decision mpicing processes on eeneo-perceptual and speech-thinking levels are described. The productive oharactes of these processes are demonstrated. One of the traditional ways of artificial intellect constructing is an analysis of real decision making processes of man and subsequent formal description of them. Heuristic programming, however, representing to many scientists mi...
